On the road to nowhere

I have a 19 year old daughter living at home and in her first year of University. She has never worked one day in her life. We pay all her expenses and deposit 50 €/month (pocket money) in a bank account we opened at the beginning of the school year, so that she gets used to use a debit card, etc. A couple of weeks ago she receives a cheque of 4.000 € of pre-approved credit to use as she pleases and she has been called 5 times by the bank persuading her to accept it!
